About Robert Leak, HHP, OBT

Robert Leak has had over 14 years experience as a Holistic Health Practitioner and Oriental Body Therapist in San Diego. He studied at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, where he is now teaching. Robert Leak’s approach to health really gets to the root of the problem, instead of just relieving the symptoms. He embraces health holistically, understanding the body’s physical state, emotional state, and one’s lifestyle are equal influences. Robert is a strong influence on his students and clients. He does have a lot of experience in his field, but it seems to flow naturally from within him. He helps people take control of their health and maintain their wellness, and in many cases it happens quickly.

Robert teaches and practices Tui Na, a traditional Chinese medical massage. Tui Na is like acupuncture, but without the needles. It focuses on getting to the root of the problem instead of trying to “fix” the symptoms. Robert also uses different applied kinesiology techniques to assess the body’s imbalances. Applied kinesiology uses muscle testing to tap into the body’s state of health and see how its systems are functioning. He combines all of his techniques to address almost anything from allergies and parasites to low back pain and chronic migraines.

Robert Leak is not just a massage therapist; he addresses one’s overall health. It is his experience and belief that simply just water intake, diet (particularly sugar metabolism), and rest will support the body’s own ability to heal itself. When either of these is not maintained, our bodies weaken and become susceptible. Robert’s holistic approach includes alleviating emotional stress or trauma and regulating sugar metabolism. He taps into the body’s emotional state through many of his techniques such as applied kinesiology, Chakra balancing, and Hara abdominal massage. Sugar metabolism is rebalanced through energetic work and a temporary strict diet to get the body back on track. However, many keep adhering to the diet long after once they realize how good they feel.

Robert definitely practices what he preaches. Him and his wife, Dr. Jacqueline Leak, maintain very healthful lifestyles. They are both vegetarian. This doesn’t just mean they don’t eat meat, but consume wholesome foods throughout the day. Robert practices Qi Gong and Tai Chi, movement forms of meditation, daily. He understands that there is always more to learn. He continues his education through classes and workshops, and has even traveled to Thailand to study under Master Chia.
